This publication documents the monumental collaborative work which Liam Gillick and Lawrence Weiner produced for the Antwerp museum of contemporary art MuHKA in the spring of 2011. Tellingly titled A Syntax of Dependency:, the project could be viewed as the outcome of a twenty-year dialogue between artists, artistic practices, generations. This giant floor piece, consisting of an abstract linoleum pattern containing an array of phrases, took up the museum's entire first floor - its site-specifity meaning that the end of the exhibition also entailed the work's irreversible destruction. Musical score written through the transcription of a daily occurrence. The composition was written from the translation –to musical language– of an elevator's movement for ninety minutes. Specific parameters (tempo and tone) were assigned to the passengers' variants (floor and age).
The score is meant to be performed on a cello because of the similarity between this string instrument and the mechanism that makes the elevator work.

This booklet—with a graphic design that resembles a school notebook from the 50s—was created to accompany an exhibition at Larada by Adrien Missika, a young Parisian artist based in Geneva. In 2004, Missika set out on an original “grand tour” that skipped all the monuments and glorious ruins of Europe and took him instead through the peripheral neighborhoods of various Old World capitals, from Milan to Moscow. The result was Einfühlung (2008): a series of low-resolution, cell-phone photos of impressive Collectivist architecture, a legacy of the Modernist social utopias. Images of this work and others, including Grand Prix (2008), a video in which dromology meets archeology, and Daily Archeology (2010), serve as photographic references for the critical text by Patrick Gosatti.

CURRENT RESIDENT, a collaborative book by Kenny Komer and Marysia Gacek, comprises solely of computer generated imagery inspired by interior design catalogues and magazines. Based on interiors seen in Architectural Digest and Ikea catalogues, the book depicts a fictional, contemporary residence mimicking current tendencies to replace photography with 3D modeling computer software producing photo realistic images. Views of the apartment are generated via computer algorithms with the same techniques used in the advertising industry. A reader is invited to take a tour of the space while a number of mysterious activities unravel before her/his eyes.
Kenny Komer (b.1984) is an interdisciplinary multimedia artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He received a BFA from the School of Art, Cooper Union, New York, NY in 2006. He has exhibited at galleries in New York (Gavin Brown's enterprise, Rush Arts Gallery, Carriage House Center and White Box Gallery) and Tokyo, Japan (Motus Fort). Komer is a founding member of the guerrilla street-art collective, Concerned New Yorkers, whose work has been featured in the New York Times, New York Magazine, the Brooklyn Rail, the Village Voice, CNN, and the Daily Telegraph.

Kelli Sims' It's Michael is a collection of drawings and watercolors created by the artist over a span of one week in March 2015. Christoph Vieweg is a drawer and illustrator, based in Berlin. He realizes his art mainly through drawings which focus on everyday observations. Most recently, Vieweg was engaged in the project SOWEIT DIE MELDUNGEN in which he attempts to artistically explore daily news delivered through radio podcasts. The challenge of the project is to keep up the artistic output of at least one drawing per day, each of it representing one received news item. Working regardless of brief I like to continue to produce a body of work to satisfy my creative habits. This has led to sharing daily drawings online via Instagram, which is a great platform to discover and meet other creatives. I have had the honour of working with some fantastic individuals over the past year, which I try to share online via my website. This September I plan to go to Central Saint Martins to further my studies, devote my time to and produce more art! I’m looking forward to all that this opportunity has to offer.

When Oliver was a boy in the late seventies he once saw his neighbour, a graphic designer at the distinguished Rosenthal porcelain factory, driving by in a gold-coloured Porsche. This powerful and lasting impression was the impetus for him to study graphic design at the Lette-Verein Berlin and illustration at Hamburg’s University of Applied Sciences. After his graduation he also worked internationally as a graphic artist in San Diego, California, and since the year 2000 has been pursuing successfully his career as a designer in Berlin. Amongst his clients are music and publishing houses, the world-famous dance-club Berghain, as well as the Berlin-based daily newspaper taz for which he regularly provides artistic illustrations for political and cultural articles.

During nine months of research at the Library, Leti examined the works of a diverse range of artists who utilise the form of the cross, including Antoni Tàpies, Piet Mondrian, Arthur Boyd and Rover Thomas. Throughout the project, Leti kept a daily journal recording his observations and inspiration. His jottings and sketches in the journal served as a springboard to larger works made on paper, metal, glass, canvas and wood.

The Typographic Society Munich is the largest organisation in Europe for typographers and people who are interested in typography and design. Since being founded in 1874 the designers’ club establishes a foundation for sophisticated and interdisciplinary thinking and dialogues among content and form, text and photo, tradition and innovation, design and technology. The tgm represents quality and education for the branch of communication and offers a huge accompanying training program. As Chairwoman of the club I curated several lectures in the last years, inviting design and typography celebrities.Throughout the years designers like Stefan Sagmeister, Mirko Borsche, Eike König, Mario Lombardo, Sascha Lobe, Fons Hickmann, Amir Kassaei or Kurt Weidemann to name a view, followed these invitations and appreciated the warm welcome of our community.
To show the wide range of offerings we traditionally create a yearbook. More over I tried to give the content based complexity of our proposal a clear and neat arrangement. Therefore the new release is a compilation of four different books, which should invite the reader to inform themselves, to browse, to experience and to participate. The first one exposes all the topics, facts and dates for the further education programs. Part two presents all the people and their stories who are involved in the club, who are on stage and behind the scenes. The third book is a journey into the past and also the future of tgm’s conferences, excursions and other specials. And finally there is room for the reader’s own ideas, experiences and criticism as a foundation for a future dialogue with tgm.
Every offer under the roof of tgm is a result of solidarity. It is a result of people and companies who are united by the common interest in typographic quality. This project has only been possible with the support of Kösel Druck GmbH & Co Kg, Geese Paper, mycolorserver and the collaboration with Boah Kim.

Rage, Heal, Root, Grow is a celebration of the chaos and complexity of life and one person’s process of adapting to it. Johnson’s postpartum years were challenging. She was fearful of what she saw happening—that she was disappearing as her male partner was becoming more visible. She struggled to find the time and space necessary to heal her body, and to reconcile the intense inequity of a child-rearing partnership when one partner (her) was nursing. A unique postpartum tale that refuses the female body as its central character. In its place: that body’s voice, and the bespoke flotsam of daily life.
Rage, Heal, Root, Grow was created on a shared Risograph duplicator over many months while Johnson’s child slept in a stroller nearby. She scanned and printed drawings they had made together with markers, watercolors, crayons, pencils, and lots of stamps into symphonic six-color prints. A narrative text describes her experience of raging, healing, rooting herself, and subsequently growing in a new direction.

Special issues have been published for the exhibition Terra Mediterranea: In Crisis (2012) at the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre, the participation of Cyprus at the 55th Venice Biennale (2013) and International Artist Initiated, a project organised by David Dale Gallery as part of the Glasgow 2014 Culture Programme for the Commonwealth Games, for which Peter Eramian also curated the exhibition Non-Standard Testimonials.

Die vierte Ausgabe des Buffer Fringe Festivals wurde unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Charalambia Theophanous organisiert und fand zwischen dem 08.-11.11.2017 in der Altstadt von Nikosia statt. Das Festival fand an verschiedenen nicht-theatergebundenen Orten und öffentlichen Plätzen statt: in Garage, am Faneromeni-Platz, am Selimiye-Platz, am Arasta-Platz, am Bedesten und im Bandabulya.
Alle Aktivitäten im Rahmen des Festivalprogramms waren öffentlich, für alle zugänglich und kostenlos. Das Publikum hatte die Möglichkeit, insgesamt 14 einzigartige Darbietungen aus verschiedenen Genres zu genießen, darunter Tanz, Theater, Musik, Malerei und Installationen. Zusätzlich zu den 7 lokalen Darbietungen aus ganz Zypern kamen auch 7 internationale Darbietungen aus Spanien, Deutschland, Irland, Japan, dem Vereinigten Königreich und Griechenland hinzu. After San Francisco’s new mayor announced imminent plans to “clean up” downtown with a new corporate “dot com corridor” and arts district - featuring the new headquarters of Twitter and Burning Man - curators Erick Lyle, Chris Johanson, and Kal Spelletich brought over one hundred artists and activists together with neighbourhood residents fearing displacement to consider Utopian aspirations and to plot alternate futures for the city. Opening in May 2012 at the Luggage Store Gallery, the resulting exhibition Streetopia was a massive anti-gentrification art fair that took place in venues throughout the city. For five weeks, Streetopia featured daily free talks, performances, and skillshares while operating a free community kitchen out of the gallery.
This book brings together all of the art and ephemera from the now-infamous show - featuring work by SWOON, Barry McGee, Emory Douglas, Monica Canilao, Rigo 23, Xara Thustra, Ryder Cooley, and many more. Using the format of an exhibition catalog as a jumping off point, the book also includes essays and interviews with key participants that consider the effectiveness of Streetopia’s projects while offering a deeper rumination on the continuing search for community - and for Utopia - in today’s increasingly homogeneous and gentrified neo-liberal cities in an era of unprecedented wealth disparity.

Für die Ausstellung BAU [ SPIEL ] HAUS hat das Neue Museum Nürnberg, gefördert durch den Fond Bauhaus heute der Bundeskulturstiftung, zum 100. Jubiläum der Gestaltungsschule eine ambitionierte, dreiteilige Publikation herausgegeben: einen Katalog, einen Reader und ein Künstlerbuch. Das Konzept hierzu stammt von dem Künstler Olaf Nicolai, der gemeinsam mit dem Grafikbüro Daily Dialogue (Maximilian Schachtner, Malin Schoenberg, Marie Damageux) auch die Gestaltung übernommen hat. Der Reader trägt Texte historischer und zeitgenössischer, internationaler AutorInnen zusammen – von Friedrich Fröbel bis Bazon Brock. Katalog, Künstlerbuch und Reader wurden als Bundle in einer transparenten Tasche angeboten.
